Peter Obi sick, cancels weekend engagements

Peter Obi, former Anambra governor and Labour Party chieftain, has cancelled his engagements for the weekend due to ill health and a doctor’s advice.
Mr. Obi announced in a statement on Saturday that he was not feeling well and that he would not be able to attend his scheduled engagements at home and abroad over the weekend.
“Earlier in Enugu, I was not feeling well. I visited the hospital, where the doctor gave me some medication and advised me to take a day or two of rest,” Mr Obi said.
He added, “In obedience to the doctor’s advice, I will not be able to meet up with all my scheduled engagements within and outside the country this weekend.”
The former governor also apologised for any inconveniences his absence at the scheduled events might cause.
