Stakeholders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the Gyel District of Jos Local Government Area (LGA) of Plateau State have commended Governor Caleb Mutfwang over the completion and ongoing road projects across various communities in the state.

The stakeholders spoke during the party’s congress of the district on Monday in Jos.

Dalyop Mancha, a two-term member of the Plateau State House of Assembly, particularly thanked the governor for constructing roads and other projects in Gyel and environs.

Mr Mancha, who represented Jos South Constituency in the assembly, also thanked the governor for appointing some residents of the district to key political positions in the state.

“This administration has constructed and rehabilitated the DB Zang Junction-stadium road, the building material-Bukuru Low-cost-Nyango road, and the Nyango bridge, among many other projects within Gyel.

“Also, beyond key appointments from Gyel, we recognise the several developmental interventions by this administration that have a direct impact on residents of the district and neighboring communities,” he said.

Also, Joseph Dangyang, who urged the governor to contest again in 2027, stressed that his policies were gradually lifting Plateau residents out of poverty.

According to him, the governor has excelled in road infrastructure, education, transportation, agriculture, rural electrification, and other critical sectors.

“We, the PDP stakeholders in Gyel, reaffirm our solidarity and deepest appreciation to Governor Mutfwang for his remarkable transformation of the state.

“Since 1999, Gyel has not had it so good like during the tenure of Governor Jonah Jang and the current administration, and so, we will support the governor to succeed,” he said.

Responding, Davou Jatau, the state Commissioner for Transportation and a native of Gyel, said the Mutfwang-led administration remained committed to improving the welfare of Plateau people.

“Today, with as low as N200, you can move to any part of Jos and environs using the metro buses. Aside from the quality roads, this administration has revived the mass transit train; the health, education, agriculture, and other critical sectors have been revived as well.

“Only recently, the governor has inaugurated a new market in Bukuru, and plans are underway to build more in order to boost the economy,” he said.

Mr Jatau urged the community to continue praying and cooperating with the governor and his deputy to deliver more democratic dividends across the state.
