The Bauchi State Oil & Gas Academy said it targets the first quarter of 2026 for accreditation of its programmes by the National Board for Technical Education.

The Provost, Ahmed Yaro, said this during an inspection visit to the facility, on Monday in Alkaleri, headquarters of Alkaleti Local Government Area of the state.

He said work had begun in earnest at the site with several key projects underway including the construction of lecture theatres, hostels, office accommodations, laboratories, an auditorium and an academic block.

Mr Yaro said the auditorium was designed with a 300-seat capacity, while the twin lecture theatres would each accommodate 250 persons.

He stated, “The academy aims to develop the skills of the local workforce, empower youths, and enhance vocational training.’’

The Bauchi State government initiated the project sequel to the oil and gas exploration at the Kolmani oil field by the Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation Limited.

The college is designed to produce artisans and professionals to meet the labour demands of the oil and gas industry in the state.
