Police impound 25 vehicles without tinted glass permit in Delta
The Delta State Police Command has impounded 25 vehicles with tinted glasses but without permits in Asaba following the commencement of enforcement on Thursday.
“Twenty-five vehicles were impounded for driving a tinted vehicle without a tinted permit in Asaba,” the command said in a post on X on Friday.
It advised residents to visit the website of the Nigeria Police Specialised Services Automation Project (POSSAP) or the state police headquarters to obtain permits.
The operation followed the announcement on Tuesday by the command’s spokesperson, Bright Edafe, who disclosed that the enforcement of regulations on tinted car glasses would begin on October 2.
Mr Edafe also assured that operatives will be professional and observe the constitutional rights of citizens during the exercise.
He added that the commissioner of police, Abaniwonda Olufemi, had directed area commanders and divisional police officers to monitor operations to ensure adherence to “ensure civility and full respect for human rights in all engagements.”
