Ibadan quartet arraigned for burglary

A 50-year-old woman, Adedayo Adegoke, and three others were arraigned before the Mapo Chief Magistrates’ Court on Friday for burglary and stealing.
The other defendants are Folarin Lamidi, 24; Abiodun Lamidi, 22; and Azeez Tolia, 26.
They were charged before the magistrate, John Olorimoke, on a four-count charge bordering on conspiracy, burglary, stealing, and assault.
They each, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge.
The prosecutor, Oluseye Akinola, told the court that the defendants committed the offence on September 28, at about 10:00 a.m. in the Mokola area of Ibadan.
He alleged that the defendants conspired to burglarise a shop belonging to Oluwafemi Saka and stole a Samsung A05 phone valued at N195,000, a photostat valued at N250,000, and some working tools valued at N20,000.
According to the prosecutor, other items stolen include a generating set valued at N380,000, a 12kg gas cylinder valued at N45,000, a 3kg gas cylinder valued at N22,000, and a sound system valued at N30,000.
He alleged that the total value of the stolen goods is N942,000.
The court granted the defendants bail in the sum of N200,000 each, with two reliable sureties each in like sum.
He adjourned the case until October 29 for a hearing.
