Man arraigned over alleged theft of iPhone 13 worth N530,000

A 21-year-old man, Adedeji Samuel, on Thursday appeared before an Ado-Ekiti Chief Magistrates’ Court for allegedly stealing cell phone worth N530,000.
The defendant, of no fixed address, is standing trial on a charge of stealing.
The prosecutor, Inspector Osuolale Yomi, told the court that the defendant committed the offence on October 17 at Road 7, Iworoko Road in Ado-Ekiti.
He alleged that the defendant stole one Iphone 13 valued at N530,000 belonging to the complainant, Ogagbade Abayomi.
Mr Osuolale said that the offence contravened Section 301(d) of the Criminal Law of Ekiti State, 2021.
The defendant, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge preferred against him.
Counsel to the defendant, Oluwafemi Alabi, urged the court to grant the defendant bail, with a promise that he would not jump bail.
The Chief Magistrate, Dolamu Babalogbon, granted the defendant bail in the sum of N100,000 with one surety in like sum.
She adjourned the case until November 19 for hearing.
