350 NSCDC officers ready for Anambra guber election

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps says it will deploy 350 personnel for the governorship election in Anambra.
The Independent National Electoral Commission has scheduled the poll for Saturday.
The commandant of the NSCDC in Enugu, Elijah Willie, stated on Thursday that the NSCDC officers would be departing within a few hours.
Mr Willie noted that the officers had been briefed on expectations from them for the election, adding, “I know they will be good ambassadors of the command.”
He stated that the governorship election in Anambra was already a success, given the pedigree and resolve of the new INEC chairman, as well as the security preparations for the election.
According to him, officers from the command for the crucial Anambra governorship election are already mobilised, and in the hours between today and Friday, they will be directed to proceed to Anambra.
“I know the Anambra governorship election is already a success with the new INEC chairman and the security preparedness.
“Definitely, some vehicles will be leaving the command for Anambra, and also, we are going to hire more vehicles to ensure that those bearing arms are conveyed in a secure way.
“Since they will not carry arms on motorbikes,” he said.
