Peter Obi is frustrated serial loser sulking over LP electoral loss: Soludo

“I even saw a video where he was pleading with his community not to let him down,” said Mr Soludo of Peter Obi.

Governor Charles Soludo has slammed Peter Obi’s attempts to unseat him in the November 8 governorship election, accusing the Labour Party chieftain of frustration.

Mr Soludo of the All Progressives Grand Alliance was declared the winner of the election with a total of 422,664 votes. The Labour Party candidate, George Moghalu, came in distant fourth with 10,576 votes.

Speaking in Awka on Tuesday, Mr Soludo mocked Mr Obi over the Labour Party’s loss in the election, despite his community rallying support for him.

“Nobody likes to lose. I can understand the pain and frustration,” Mr Soludo said. “For someone who put in everything they had in the process to unseat Soludo, even though he was not on the ballot, he thought he would raise somebody’s hand to unseat Soludo. I even saw a video where he was pleading with his community not to let him down. And the election came, and he saw something he never imagined in his life.”

Mr Obi, who campaigned for Mr Moghalu in the election despite his alliance with the African Democratic Congress, decried massive vote-buying during the poll.

However, Mr Soludo said the Labour Party’s former presidential candidate was sulking after losing his polling unit to the All Progressives Congress.

“For somebody who can’t imagine it, sulking, I can understand it. We felt sympathy for him and ignored his polling unit while we focused on the wards. We thought he could secure his polling unit, but lo and behold, APC defeated him in his polling unit, while APGA took the entire other wards,” the Anambra governor stated.

The governor further described Mr Obi as a serial loser, adding that the Anambra people rejected the former governor and his party due to his abysmally poor record in the state.

He explained, “I can understand it if you’re a serial loser. What we spent in one year was less than what he spent in four years in dollar terms. But in terms of the record, the people spoke, from his polling unit, to his ward, to his community and to Anambra.”

Mr Soludo berated Mr Obi’s educational reforms in the state and accused his predecessor of intentionally destroying public education systems in the state.

Mr Obi could not be immediately reached for comments.

Yinusa Tanko, the national coordinator of the Obedient Movement, did not immediately respond to a request for comments.
