Man, 60, arraigned over alleged malicious damage of vegetable farm

A 60-year-old man, Isaac Yusuf, on Wednesday appeared before an Iyaganku Magistrates’ Court Ibadan, Oyo State. for allegedly allowing cattle to destroy a vegetable farm.
Yusuf, whose address was not provided, is standing trial on charges bordering on conspiracy, conduct likely to cause breach of peace and malicious damage
He, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge.
The prosecutor, Inspector Adeshina Folaranmi, told the court that the defendant committed the offence on Nov. 11, at about 2.00 p.m. at Ido in Ibadan.
He alleged that the defendant and others at large, ordered some cattle to enter into a vegetable farm belonging to one Abdulahi Olawoyin.
He alleged that the cattle destroyed vegetables worth N800,000.
The defendant was also alleged to have e conducted himself in a manner likely to cause the breach of peace by his action.
The offences contravene the provisions of sections 249(d), 451 and 516 of the Criminal Law of Oyo State, 2000.
The Magistrate, Oluwabusayo Osho, granted the defendant bail in the sum of N500,000 with two sureties in like sum.
