Governor Yusuf asks Kano residents to pray for end of banditry, terrorism

Governor Abba Yusuf on Saturday called on the residents to intensify prayers for peaceful coexistence and divine protection against rising insecurity threats in some parts of Kano.
Mr Yusuf made the appeal during a special prayer session organised by the state government and held at the Government House, Kano.
Mr Yusuf described prayer as the strongest weapon against evil and those who plot harm against humanity.
He urged religious leaders to continue championing prayers for lasting peace across Kano.
Mr Yusuf expressed concern over recent banditry in some parts of the state, described them as “strange” and stated that Kano required divine intervention to overcome the emerging security challenges.
Also speaking at the event, the Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi II, appealed to the residents to redouble their fervent prayers for sustainable peace and stability in the state.
The prayer session featured the recitation of the Holy Qur’an and special supplications led by prominent Islamic scholars.
