Awujale Throne: ‘No proof of your membership,’ Fusengbuwa Ruling House rejects Wasiu Ayinde’s claim

“Our extensive investigation has not revealed any proof of your membership of the Jadiara Royal House or indeed that of the Fusengbuwa Ruling House,” said Mr Owoyemi.

The Fusengbuwa Ruling House in Ijebu Ode, Ogun State, has rejected Fuji music icon Wasiu Ayinde’s claims of being a member of the family, disqualifying him from contesting the Awujale stool.

Chairman of the ruling house, Lateef Owoyemi, in a letter to the musician on Thursday, confirmed the receipt of Mr Ayinde’s completed lineage form on Wednesday.

“Our extensive investigation has not revealed any proof of your membership of the Jadiara Royal House or indeed that of the Fusengbuwa Ruling House,” said Mr Owoyemi. “Consequently, the completed linkage lineage form is hereby declared null, void, and of no consequence.”

“For the avoidance of doubt, your claim to the membership of the Fusengbuwa Ruling House is rejected, and the completed form is of no consequence.”

Mr Ayinde, also known as KWAM1, submitted the royal lineage data form on Wednesday, December 10. The form was dated December 8, 2025, and jointly signed by the musician and his family unit head, Adetayo Oduneye Eruobodo.

Ayinde, in the form, said he is a descendant of Setejoye and from the Oba Jadiara category.

Mr Owoyemi, however, explained that Mr Eruobodo is not a registered member of the Jadiara Royal House, where the singer claimed to be a descendant of.

Also noting an irregularity with the form certified by Mr Eruobodo two days before Mr Ayinde signed it, Mr Owoyemi said, “The form was not signed by the authorised representative (family head) of your purported family unit head;

“Omoba Adetayo Abayomi Oduneye Eruobodo is not a registered member of the Jadiara Royal House and therefore has no locus standi to sign any linkage form on behalf of the family.

“Our extensive investigation has not revealed any proof of your membership of the Jadiara Royal House or indeed that of the Fusengbuwa Ruling House.”
