Fuji icon Wasiu Ayinde submits lineage form for Awujale throne

Legendary Fuji musician Wasiu Ayinde has filled and submitted his family’s royal lineage data form to prove he is a bona fide member of the Fusengbuwa Ruling House, next in line to produce the next Awujale of Ijebuland, Ogun State.
The form was dated December 8, 2025, and jointly signed by the musician and his family unit head, Adetayo Oduneye Eruobodo.
Ayinde, popularly called KWAM1, said he is a descendant of Setejoye and from the Oba Jadiara category.
This is in compliance with the directive by Abdulateef Owoyemi, the chairman of the ruling house in Agunsebi Quarters, Ijebu-Ode, for Mr Ayinde to submit the form by Wednesday. The deadline was originally on Friday, December 5.
The form is a requirement for applicants contending to assume the vacant Awujale stool to trace their genealogy back seven generations and to ensure that only genuine princes from the family participate.
Ayinde, in a letter dated December 3, 2025, to the chairman of the ruling House, signified his intention to assume the stool, in line with Ijebu customary law and the state’s chieftaincy laws, explaining that he is a “bona fide son” of the ruling house.
