Mbah appoints new commissioners, board chairpersons, executive secretaries

Governor Peter Mbah has approved the appointment of two new commissioners, board chairpersons, executive secretaries, and senior officials into various positions.

Governor Peter Mbah has approved the appointment of two new commissioners, board chairpersons, executive secretaries, and senior officials into various positions.

This was announced in a statement by the secretary to the state government, Chidiebere Onyia, on Wednesday.

According to Mr Onyia, the commissioners-designate are Osinachi Nnajieze, Charles Egumgbe, and Kenechukwu Nnamani, as managing director of the Enugu State Investment Development Authority, James Mbah, executive secretary of the Enugu State Scholarship and Education Loans Board, Eric Oluedo, executive secretary, Local Government Staff Pensions Board; Sylvia Onwubuemeli, executive secretary, Enugu State Library Board; and Monday Ani, state coordinator, Community and Social Development Agency.

Mr Onyia added that Mr Mbah also approved the reconstitution of ENSUBEB’s governing board.

The members are Afam Nnaji, Uche Eze, Oge Uka, Rita Chimaobi Ihemeje (representative for the Enugu West senatorial district), Justina Ugwu (representative for the Enugu North senatorial district), Nnenna Ogbonna, representative, Enugu East Senatorial District; Theophilus Nweke, representative, Nigeria Union of Teachers; Juliet Ani, representative, State Women Group; and Luke Ohabuenyi Ezema, secretary.

The SSG equally stated that Nneka Onyebuchi and Patrick Onwe were appointed members of the Post-Primary Schools Management Board. Nwabueze Ugwu, as chairman of the governing council of Enugu State College of Education Technical, and Chief Nwabueze Nnamani, board chairman of Enugu State Housing Development Corporation.

Also on the list are Richard Onaga, managing director of the Enugu State Waste Management Agency; Bob Itanyi, managing director of the Enugu State Transport Company; Richard Agu, board chairman of Enugu Air; Uchenna Igwesi, Board Chairman, New Enugu Smart City Development Authority; Chika Igwesi, Chairman, Enugu State Road Maintenance and Development Agency; and Chidera Odo, Chairman, Enugu State Roads Fund.

Among them also are Manfred Nzekwe, executive secretary, Enugu State Roads Fund; John Egbo, managing director, Enugu East Zone Transport Terminals; Emeka Mamah, managing director, Enugu North Zone Transport Terminals; and Chimaobi Aninwene, member, Enugu State Christian Pilgrims Welfare Board.

Mr Onyia said that the names of the commissioners-designate had been forwarded to the Enugu State House of Assembly for confirmation, while all other appointments took effect immediately.
