Ekiti LG boss urges workers to embrace hard work in 2026

The chairman of Ikole LGA in Ekiti, Bayo Omojola, has urged workers to embrace hard work and commitment to the council’s development in 2026.
Mr Omojola gave the advice in an interview on Sunday in Ikole-Ekiti. He said that for every local government council to be developed and functional, the workers must be ready to give their best in their various departments.
The chairman said that he had four agendas, which summarised the six agendas of Governor Biodun Oyebanji, adding that he has been working on the programme since he assumed office.
He said that his administration’s agenda includes: Agriculture, Education, infrastructure, and good governance.
Mr Omojola noted that these agendas can only be realised with workers’ commitment. He said that internally generated revenue was one of the major tools required to promote the development of any council.
“I want to urge every staff member of Ikole Local Government Area to be hardworking and diligent in their various departments in 2026. I am ready to work with everybody, and priority will be given to the welfare of staff, but I will not tolerate any form of complacency from the workers of the council.
“We need IGR to fund most of our needs in the local government, and if every worker carries out his or her duties, we will achieve our goals,” he said.
Mr Omojola urged workers to be security-conscious and report individuals or groups with unknown identities to the nearest police station for prompt action.
He assured them that his administration would improve the security network, workers’ and farmers’ welfare in 2026.
