2026 is year of massive possibilities, says Anambra speaker

The speaker of the Anambra State House of Assembly, Somtochukwu Udeze, has described 2026 as a year of great and endless possibilities.
He said this in his New Year’s message to the people of the state on Thursday, adding that Nigerians had witnessed an increase in social, economic, and political activities in 2025.
He therefore urged residents and Nigerians to view the new year as an opportunity to re-examine the collective bond as a nation and to view the challenges of the past years as great lessons for attaining greatness, and to approach the year with a positive mindset.
He said, “It is evident in the severe economic hardship and insecurity that confronted the masses in many ways.”
Mr Udeze encouraged people to be steadfast, prayerful, and law-abiding, believing that 2026 would be a turning point and an eventful year in all ramifications.
He reassured Anambra residents that the state legislature would resume legislative activities in 2026 with renewed vigour.
“We will ensure that meaningful development and overall good governance continue to thrive in the state.
“I am satisfied with the Eighth State Assembly, which continued to take decisive actions in legislative business, along with other law-making bodies in the country, enacting quality laws and resolutions,” the speaker said.
He commended Governor Charles Soludo for his endeavors across all sectors, including an improved education system, the establishment of free education and healthcare delivery, a security architecture, massive road infrastructure, and youth empowerment, among others.
He called on the people to support the present administration to enable the governor to move further with his transformation agenda.
Mr Udeze wished the citizenry a happy and more prosperous new year, while praying to God for guidance and blessings in all endeavors.
