The Independent National Electoral Commission has concluded arrangements for the smooth conduct of the forthcoming Kano House of Assembly by-elections for the Kano municipal and Ungogo constituencies.

The by-elections were necessitated by the demise of the two lawmakers representing the constituencies, creating vacancies in the state legislature.

The resident electoral commissioner in Kano, Abdullahi Zango, stated that over 10 political parties had expressed interest in participating in the exercise.

He assured that INEC was fully prepared for the polls, with arrangements in top gear to guarantee a smooth, credible, and hitch-free election.

Mr Zango urged eligible voters to turn out en masse on the election day, assuring them of a level playing field for all the contestants.

The by-elections aim to restore equitable representation in the assembly and strengthen grassroots democratic governance.
