Zamfara SSG’s brother defects to APC

The brother of the secretary to the Zamfara government, Bello Nakwada, has defected from the Peoples Democratic Party to the All Progressives Congress. This was announced in a statement on Thursday.
“In another landmark defection ahead of the 2027 general elections, the younger brother of the secretary to the Zamfara government, Alhaji Bello Nakwada, has announced his defection from the PDP to the APC.
“Nakwada is one of Governor Dauda Lawal’s campaign sponsors during the 2023 election. Similarly, the PDP’s Gusau local government area chairmanship aspirant in the last local government election in the state, Honourable Hassan Idris Gusau, has abandoned the PDP for the APC.
“Both former prominent PDP figures were happily received alongside some of their supporters by the Honourable Minister of State for Defence, Dr Bello Matawalle, in Abuja on Thursday,” said the statement.
The politicians, in their separate remarks, commended the unity within the APC, where the members. were receiving equal treatment, courtesy of its leaders like Mr Matawalle and Abdulaziz Yari.
It added, “They declared their complete loyalty to the APC and its leaders, assuring that already their supporters and well-wishers had fully supported the defection and promised to work for the success of the APC.”
Upon receiving the new members, Mr Matawalle assured them that they would enjoy all the benefits, privileges, and other forms of benevolence of the APC.
He charged them to encourage their supporters to fully participate in the ongoing e-registration of party members.
