The Olusegun Agagu University of Science and Technology (OAUSTECH), Okitipupa, Ondo State, on Wednesday matriculated no fewer than 4,500 students for the 2025/2026 academic session.

The students were admitted into the six schools of sciences and basic medical and allied health sciences.

Others are management sciences, engineering and engineering technology, agriculture, food and natural resources, and postgraduate studies.

The Vice-Chancellor of OAUSTECH, Temi Ologunorisa, while congratulating the students, said that the institution would impart 21st-century knowledge to compete favourably among their peers in other climes.

He urged the students to concentrate on their studies to actualise future goals and aspirations and desist from all forms of academic corruption and social vices.

According to him, the world is in a competitive and robotic age of industrial and technological revolution, in which the university is at the forefront and poised for the revolution.

He said, “I congratulate you for making the right choice for being worthy of admission into the great citadel of knowledge, which is one of the best in the country.

“We have award-winning professors, who are rated among the best in the country, as well as a safe, serene and conducive learning environment. Students will be taken through 21st-century skills because we have one of the best central equipment and laboratories.

“The oath you swear is for you to abide by all the rules and regulations of the institution and that of your community. This is because the institution has zero tolerance for indolence, examination malpractices, cultism and other social vices.”

Mr Ologunorisa said that the institution’s products were doing well and competing favourably among their peers in all fields, nationally and internationally.

He also appealed to the students to bear with the accommodation issues, saying that the institution had limited hostels to accommodate students.

The vice chancellor appealed to the Niger Delta Development Commission and the Ondo State Oil Producing Areas Commission to complete the abandoned hostels in the institution to address accommodation problems.
