Free delivery kits given to 250 pregnant women monthly in Bauchi: Official

Hauwa Adamu, the officer in charge of Kofar Ran Primary Healthcare Centre in Bauchi, says 250 pregnant women receive free delivery kits monthly.
Ms Adamu disclosed this on Wednesday in Bauchi.
She explained that the delivery kits were provided under the IMPACT Project to support safe childbirth.
According to her, the kits contain mama pads, nightgowns, bleach, umbilical cord clamps and hand gloves, among other essential items.
Ms Adamu stated that the items were intended to ensure a clean, safe delivery for both mothers and their newborns.
“We ensure that every woman who comes to deliver at the facility receives a free delivery pack,” she said.
Ms Adamu added that the facility distributes about 250 kits monthly, but following its merger with the State Specialist Hospital, the centre now records about 350 deliveries each month.
She also revealed that the antenatal clinic records a high turnout of pregnant women, with daily attendance ranging between 80 and 90 new registrations.
Two women in delivery suits, Fatima Shehu and Khadija Bappah, confirmed to journalists that the items had been given to them.
