APGA to begin nationwide e-membership registration March 1

The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) says it will commence its continuous electronic membership registration nationwide on March 1, ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Ejimofor Opara, the party’s national publicity secretary, during a news conference on Friday in Awka, the Anambra State capital, said the exercise would take place simultaneously across the 8,809 electoral wards in the country.
He said the initiative underscored APGA’s commitment to innovation, transparency and inclusivity in party administration.
Mr Opara said that in June 2024, APGA became the first political party in Nigeria to automate its membership registration process, describing the move as a pioneering step to enhance efficiency and broaden participation.
According to him, the electronic registration, which commenced earlier, will officially reopen on March 1 and is open to all interested Nigerians.
“Prospective members are required to present a valid voter’s card and two passport photographs to complete the process.
“The registration can be done online via the party’s official website at www.officialapga.ng, through WhatsApp on 07055363333 or at ward centres where registration forms can be obtained.
“New members would be issued a temporary membership slip after registration, pending the issuance of their permanent membership cards,” he said.
The spokesman clarified that existing members who had already registered electronically were not required to re-register.
He, however, advised that members have yet to upload their passport photographs to update their records through the party’s website or via the designated WhatsApp platform.
Mr Opara urged eligible Nigerians to take advantage of the ongoing exercise to join the party and contribute to national development.
He disclosed that the party was on the verge of reaching the one-million-member mark, adding that the current drive was aimed at increasing the figure to two million.
