Bahrain says dozens injured in Iranian drone attack on Sitra

At least 32 civilians were injured in a drone attack on the island of Sitra, south of the capital, Manama, according to the Bahrain Ministry of Health.
In a statement carried by the Bahrain News Agency early Monday, the ministry said all those injured were Bahraini citizens.
Several of the wounded were children, and four people were reported to be in serious condition.
Earlier, the Bahrain Ministry of Interior said in a post on the social media platform X that a number of homes in Sitra were damaged in the drone strike.
The ministry also said the attack caused material damage to a water desalination facility, describing the incident as an “indiscriminate” strike on civilian targets.
The reported attack came amid escalating regional tensions after Iran launched a series of strikes across the Middle East over the past week.
The attacks were carried out in response to military strikes inside Iran by the United States (U.S.) and Israel.
According to reports, the Iranian strikes targeted both U.S. armed forces facilities and civilian locations, including airports and residential areas.
Incidents were reported in roughly a dozen Arab countries, with Gulf states such as the United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, and Qatar among those experiencing a particularly high number of attacks.
