The Lagos State Parking Authority (LASPA) has trained its staff on drone operations to boost operational capacity and improve parking management across the state.

The general manager, LASPA, Adebisi Adelabu, said this in a statement signed by Sunday Dunkwu, head, public affairs of the authority.

Mrs Adelabu said the two-week intensive training initiative was designed to develop and build technical capacity and equip LASPA personnel for effective drone operation and enhance parking management.

She said the initiative was designed to deepen the authority’s technological capabilities.

“The integration of drone technology into parking management will not only enhance real-time parking monitoring and improve enforcement but increase data gathering and storage.

“The current drone training which is the second in the series, is conducted by the officials of the parking authority who had earlier been trained by Tolulope Shosimi, FAA Certified Commercial Drone Pilot from Tolu Shosimi Studios,” she said.

She added that the already existing LASPA trainers are to cascade their knowledge to the new teams, accelerating the authority’s transition toward technology-enabled operations.

“The programme aligns with the parking authority’s core values on technology and innovation, its commitment to leveraging innovative tools to improve service delivery.

“The authority further reaffirmed its commitment to continuous innovation and capacity building for a more efficient parking management for Lagos state,” she said.
