Speaker of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Danladi Jatau, has distributed 1,000 bags of 10kg rice and over N10 million cash to the people of his constituency in the spirit of the Eid-el-Fitr celebration.

The speaker made the distribution on Wednesday in Garaku, Kokona Local Government Area.

Mr Jatau said that the gesture was part of his continued commitment to always impact his constituents positively.

The speaker noted that he spent over N30 million in distribution of rice and cash to his constituents last Christmas.

“Today, I am also distributing 1,000 bags of rice and over N10 million cash totalling N30 million in the spirit of Sallah celebration,” he said.

He charged the beneficiaries not to sell the rice but to use it to feed their families, urging those who were yet to benefit from his gesture to be patient and look forward to better days ahead.

Mr Jatau used the occasion to canvass support for Governor Abdullahi Sule and whoever would be chosen to fly the APC governorship flag for the 2027 general election in the state.

The speaker congratulated the new executive members of the party for their emergence during the state, local government and ward congresses of the party.

He also commended the stakeholders for their peaceful conduct during the congresses.

The speaker announced that he had earmarked N30 million for scholarship for the less privileged students of Karu/Keffi/Kokona Federal Constituency.

This, he said, would to reduce the burden of school fees on their parents and guardians.

Mr Jatau further urged the people of Kokona LGA to continue to shun religious and ethnic politics as well as embrace unity and peace irrespective of their affiliations.

Earlier, Terry Bado, APC chairman of Kokona LGA, commended Mr Jatau for his continued support to the people of his constituency via distribution of palliatives, among other support.

He called on the people of the constituency to continue to pray and support the speaker to succeed in 2027.

The chairman also appreciated President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Mr Sule for their developmental strides in the state.
