Fintiri swears in three commissioners, electoral commission member

He urged them to demonstrate integrity, dedication, and a strong sense of responsibility.

Governor Ahmadu Fintiri of Adamawa has sworn in three commissioners and a member of the State Independent Electoral Commission, urging them to uphold responsibility and accountability in their duties.

The swearing-in ceremony was held on Wednesday at the newly inaugurated Council Chambers in Yola.

The Adamawa State House of Assembly confirmed the nominees on March 9.

The commissioners are Sali Idris (Maiha LGA), Muhammed Suleiman (Mubi North LGA), and Chubado Mohammed (Jada LGA), while Iliya Gaji was inaugurated as a member of the State Independent Electoral Commission.

Mr Fintiri congratulated the appointees and urged them to demonstrate integrity, dedication, and a strong sense of responsibility.

He said their appointments were based on merit, proven integrity, and commitment to service, adding that they were expected to bring fresh ideas, embrace innovation, and collaborate effectively with members of the State Executive Council.

The governor further urged them to align with his administration’s vision of inclusive governance and sustainable development.

He also charged Gaji to work with the commission to ensure credible and transparent local government elections in the state.

Mr Fintiri announced the portfolios as follows: Mr Idris, livestock; Mr Suleiman, works and Mr Mohammed, energy.

Responding on behalf of the appointees, Mr Mohammed thanked the governor and assured him of their loyalty and commitment to advancing the administration’s agenda.

The state Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Afaimu Jingi, administered the oath of office and allegiance.
