FRSC lauds motorists, operatives’ conduct during sallah celebrations

The corps marshal of the Federal Road Safety Corps, Shehu Mohammed, has expressed satisfaction with the general conduct of the motoring public during the just-concluded Eid-el-Fitr celebrations.
Mr Mohammed gave the commendation after receiving operational briefings from supervisory officers deployed from the National Headquarters to monitor activities across the country.
In a statement on Tuesday, Mr Mohammed attributed the success of the FRSC nationwide special patrol operations to improved compliance and the dedication of its operatives.
Mr Mohammed expressed satisfaction with the level of discipline exhibited by road users. He noted that adherence to traffic regulations, coupled with the strategic deployment and vigilance of FRSC operatives, contributed significantly to safer highways and smoother traffic flow throughout the festive period.
He also lauded the commitment, professionalism and resilience of field personnel, whose performance, he said, greatly enhanced the effectiveness of the special patrol.
The corps marshal, however, acknowledged minor challenges recorded during the operations but maintained that the overall outcome remained highly commendable.
He urged operatives not to relent in their efforts but to consolidate the gains recorded by sustaining diligence, discipline and proactive service delivery.
Mr Mohammed expressed concern about traffic violations observed during the period and warned motorists about unsafe road practices.
“Strict adherence to traffic rules and regulations remains the most effective means of reducing road crashes and ensuring the safety of all road users,” he said.
He reaffirmed FRSC’s zero tolerance for misconduct, noting with satisfaction that no adverse reports were recorded against FRSC personnel during the operations.
The corps marshal added that the commendation extended to officers and men of the corps was well deserved.
He called on motorists to sustain the culture of safe road use beyond festive periods, stressing that road safety remains a shared responsibility requiring continuous commitment from all stakeholders.
