Nigeria will overcome challenges as Christ overcame death: Lagos Speaker Obasa
The Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Mudashiru Obasa, says Nigeria will overcome its challenges as Jesus Christ overcame death.
Mr Obasa, in an Easter message delivered by his chief press secretary, Dave Agboola, in Lagos on Sunday, expressed hope for the country and urged citizens to remain steadfast in their prayers.
“As a nation, we face economic pressures and security concerns, but the resurrection teaches us that no situation is beyond redemption. Let us roll away the stones of division and despair, and work together for peace, justice, and prosperity,” the speaker said.
He congratulated Nigerians, especially Christians, on the 2026 Easter celebration, urging them to embrace love and tolerance to move Nigeria forward.
“Easter is a season of hope and renewal. Christians should draw strength from the lessons in Jesus Christ’s resurrection,” Mr Obasa said.
He described Easter as a reminder of victory over despair, renewal after trials, and triumph of light over darkness.
Mr Obasa also called on Lagos residents to continue showing love and compassion to one another, saying that collective efforts would be key to building a stronger state and a better Nigeria.
