Stakeholders under the aegis of the All Progressives Congress’ Elders Forum in the Nasarawa North senatorial district have endorsed Governor Abdullahi Sule for the Senate.

The group also called for the rotation of the governorship to the Nasarawa West senatorial district, according to a communiqué issued at the end of the forum meeting held in Akwanga.

The communiqué was signed by Timothy Anjide, chairman of the forum, and Hassan Abubakar, APC state organising secretary.

According to the communiqué, the forum unanimously endorsed Mr Sule for the Nasarawa North Senatorial seat in the 2027 general elections.

On the forthcoming senatorial bye-election, the forum resolved that the party’s candidate should emerge from Nasarawa Eggon LGA. It stressed that such a candidate must be credible, widely acceptable, and electorally viable, and urged that the selection process be concluded without delay.

The forum also resolved that, in the interest of equity and fairness, the 2027 governorship seat should be zoned to the Nasarawa West senatorial district.

It further recommended that the House of Representatives seat be zoned to Wamba LGA, while the deputy governorship position should go to Nasarawa Eggon LGA.

On party unity, the stakeholders restated the need for cohesion and collective purpose, urging members to close ranks to strengthen the APC as a formidable political force in the state.

The forum commended party stakeholders for their contributions and commitment to the party’s growth, but urged full implementation of resolutions reached at both the recent strategic meeting with the governor and the stakeholders’ forum.

It also underscored the need to strengthen and adequately fund party structures at all levels to enhance grassroots mobilisation and overall performance.

The stakeholders further lauded elected and appointed public office holders for their support for the party, while calling for improved synergy among office holders, party structures, and the electorate.

The forum reaffirmed its loyalty to the APC and its commitment to the party’s unity, stability, and electoral success in the senatorial district and beyond.
