The chairman of the Judiciary Staff Union of Nigeria in Osun, Idris Adeniran, has stated that the union remains apolitical and is not aligned with any political parties.

In a statement on Wednesday, Mr Adeniran said the union would resist any attempt by political actors to use the judiciary as a platform for propaganda.

According to him, the union is committed to protecting the sanctity of the judiciary and will not tolerate undue interference in its affairs.

“The union will take all necessary legal and industrial actions to safeguard judges and magistrates from any form of harassment.

“Our attention has been drawn to a staged protest by a group of purported local government chairmen and councillors affiliated with a well-known political party in the state,” he said.

Mr Adeniran condemned the protest held at the gate of the Osun State High Court, describing it as an attempt to disparage a magistrate and a development that could invite anarchy.

The JUSUN chairman added that the union views the protest as a direct assault on the independence and sanctity of the judiciary, the third arm of government.

He urged members of the public to disregard such actions and allow the courts to perform their constitutional duties without interference.

Adeniran also advised aggrieved political parties to seek redress through appropriate legal channels, noting that the law provides clear avenues for appeal rather than resorting to protests at court premises.
