‘Confessions II’: Madonna announces sequel to ‘Confessions On A Dancefloor’ album

American singer Madonna Louise Ciccone has officially announced the release of ‘Confessions II’, the sequel to her 2005 dance album, ‘Confessions On A Dance Floor’.
The artiste made a post on Wednesday with the cover art of the album and captioned it ‘Confessions On A Dance Floor: Part II—July 3 2026’.
She also posted a teaser video on Instagram for the opening track, ‘I Feel So Free’.
The snippet featured similar lyrics, “only on the dance floor I feel so free”, from her 1980s classic ‘Into the Groove’.
In a statement accompanying the announcement, Madonna said, “When Stuart Price and I first started working on this record, this was our manifesto: We must dance, celebrate, and pray with our bodies.”
She went on to describe the dance floor as “a ritualistic space” where people connect with their wounds and fragility, adding that sound, light and vibration can reshape perception and create a trance-like state that dissolves ego and time.
The forthcoming album marks Madonna’s first full-length release since 2019’s ‘Madame X’ and her 15th studio album overall.
Madonna rose to fame in the 1980s with songs such as ‘Like a Virgin’, ‘Material Girl’ and ‘Into the Groove’.
She was recognised by Guinness World Records in 2023 as the best-selling female recording artiste of all time, with more than 400 million records sold worldwide.
She has won seven Grammy Awards and was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2008.
