ADC elects new state executives in Zamfara

Kabiru Garba has emerged as the new Chairman of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Zamfara.
All the new party executives were elected by consensus at the state congress held in Gusau on Monday.
The congress brought together party stakeholders, delegates, state and local government executives, representatives from the party’s national secretariat, and members from the 147 political wards in the state.
The event was attended by representatives of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), security agencies, and the media.
Mr Garba was elected as state chairman for a second term, while Kabiru Bakura emerged as deputy chairman, and Sanusi Falalu as state secretary.
Other new executives include Ganiya Sani, who was returned as state women leader; Abdullahi Dahiru as auditor; while Abdulkarim Umar was elected state publicity secretary, among others.
In his acceptance speech, the newly elected chairman urged stakeholders to remain united for the party’s success in the state ahead of the 2027 general elections.
He also called on members to remain disciplined and loyal to the party.
“My administration will promote inclusive leadership and ensure transparency, accountability, justice, and fairness.
“We will carry everyone along, especially youths, women, and elders of the party.
“We will work under the guidance of our great party’s constitution,” Mr Garba assured.
Mr Garba pledged that the new leadership would reposition the ADC by reaching the grassroots to facilitate the party’s victory in 2027.
“We are going to initiate various programmes to sensitise communities on the good manifestos of our great party for the benefit of the common man,” he added.
