Niger farmers purchase APC nomination form for Gov Bago’s reelection

Farmers under the All Farmers Association of Nigeria (AFAN), Niger State chapter, have purchased the All Progressives Congress (APC) expression of interest and nomination forms in support of Governor Umaru Bago’s bid for a second term.
Muhammadu Abubakar, the state chairman of AFAN, presented the forms to the governor on Thursday at the government house in Minna.
Mr Abubakar said the gesture was to express appreciation to the governor for his administration’s support and commitment to agricultural development in the state.
He noted that the agricultural revolution initiated by the governor had positively impacted farmers, improving productivity and livelihoods.
According to him, the farmers are committed to supporting the governor’s re-election, adding that the 2.7 million registered farmers in the state would mobilise to ensure his success.
Responding, Mr Bago expressed appreciation to the farmers for the gesture, describing it as a demonstration of confidence in his administration.
“The reward for good is good always, and the result of hard work is more work,” he said.
The governor assured the farmers that he would not take their support for granted and pledged to sustain and expand programmes to boost agricultural development in the state.
