Mass Abduction of Schoolchildren: Ogun police intensify security operations

The police command in Ogun says it has intensified security operations to prevent kidnapping and other related violent crimes across the state.
The command’s spokesperson, Oluseyi Babaseyi, said on Wednesday in Ota that surveillance operations are in place to check any security threats.
Mr Babaseyi explained that under the leadership of the police commissioner, Bode Ojajuni, all tactical teams, intelligence units, surveillance operatives, the Anti-Kidnapping Squad, and the Violent Crimes Response Unit have been fully activated to strengthen security across the state.
He added that all area commanders and divisional police officers have been placed on high alert and directed to sustain aggressive visibility policing, intelligence gathering, strategic patrols, and monitoring of flashpoints, highways, border communities, and forests within their respective jurisdictions.
”In addition, the School Protection Squad has been activated to enhance security around schools and learning environments across the state. The command is also collaborating closely with other sister security agencies, state actors, and non-state actors to strengthen intelligence sharing, surveillance, and rapid response capacity across the state,” he said.
He reaffirmed the command’s commitment to protecting lives and property and urged residents to remain vigilant and continue supporting the police with timely and credible information.
