Council, NAFDAC partner to enhance consumer safety in Kano

The Kano State Consumer Protection Council (KSCPC) says it will partner with the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) to enhance consumer protection in the state.
The Executive Secretary of the Council, Ibrahim Garba-Muhammad, stated this during a courtesy visit to the NAFDAC Kano office on Thursday.
According to him, the aim of the visit is to foster stronger inter-agency cooperation and improve synergy in the discharge of the council’s mandate of safeguarding consumers’ rights and interests.
Mr Garba-Muhammad said that effective collaboration between relevant regulatory agencies was essential to addressing the consumer-related challenges and ensuring public safety.
Earlier, the State Coordinator of NAFDAC, Kassim Ibrahim, expressed the agency’s readiness to work closely with the council in areas of mutual interest.
He said that the partnership between the two organisations would promote consumer welfare and protect the public from unsafe and substandard products.
“This collaboration will ensure consumer safety and protect the public health and well-being of residents of Kano State,” he said.
