Vice-President Kashim Shettima will on June 9 inaugurate the second flyover in Ado-Ekiti constructed by the Ekiti State Government.

The Commissioner for Works, Sola Adebayo, disclosed this during a chat with journalists on Saturday in Ado-Ekiti.

Mr Adebayo said the inauguration ceremony would take place at the Ijigbo flyover, located in front of Ecobank, at 10.00 a.m., and would attract government officials, traditional rulers, community leaders, and other dignitaries.

He called on residents to turn out in large numbers to welcome the Vice President and witness the inauguration of the project.

Mr Adebayo disclosed that the flyover was conceived and executed by the administration of Governor Biodun Oyebanji to improve traffic flow, enhance road safety, and further modernise the state capital.

The commissioner noted that the completion of the project reflected the government’s commitment to providing quality infrastructure capable of improving the living conditions of residents and stimulating economic activities across the state.

He noted that temporary traffic diversions would be implemented around the Ijigbo Flyover, Little by Little Plaza, and adjoining roads to ensure safety during the event.

Mr Adebayo said vehicular movement within and around the venue would be restricted before and during the ceremony, advising motorists coming from Adebayo, Ojumose, Basiri, Fajuyi, and other adjoining routes to use alternative roads as directed by traffic management officials.

He added that personnel of the Federal Road Safety Corps, security agencies, and traffic management teams would be deployed to ensure free flow of traffic along designated corridors.

The commissioner urged members of the public to comply with traffic regulations and cooperate with security personnel throughout the exercise.
