Shooter opens fire, injures 12 at Toledo festival in U.S.
At least 12 people were shot and two left in critical condition as a shooter opened fire at Toledo’s Old West End Festival on Saturday.
The Toledo Police Department confirmed the shooting happened “at approximately 5:37 p.m” on Saturday.
“At this time, investigators can confirm that at least 12 individuals were shot. 10 victims are reported to be in stable condition, while two remain in critical condition,” the police said.
The police said investigations are ongoing, while a manhunt has been launched to apprehend the shooter.
The shooting, according to the police, happened “in the area of Delaware Avenue and Glenwood Avenue near the Old West End Festival.”
“Upon arrival, officers discovered multiple shooting victims. Many victims have been transported to nearby medical facilities for treatment,” the police said.
The shooting left festival attendees scrambling for safety, throwing the entire community into chaos.
The authorities have asked residents and visitors to avoid the area and expect a significant police presence as officers continue their search and investigators work to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.
