The Lagos State Christian Pilgrims Welfare Board has urged Christians to embrace pilgrimage to Jerusalem, describing it as a pathway to spiritual growth and deeper faith.

The board’s secretary, Dr Gbolabo Okudero, gave the advice on Sunday when he led a four-man team on a visit to St. Luke’s Anglican Church, Amje, in the Diocese of Lagos West.

Mr Okudero said the pilgrimage opportunity was open to church groups, public servants, corporate organisations and members of the public, with a participation fee of N3.2 million.

He urged Christians to continually pray for the peace of Jerusalem and make intercessions for an end to the tension in the region.

“Pray for the peace of Jerusalem and prepare your hearts and offices for a season of spiritual opening, mission and organised visits to the holy land,” he said.

According to him, preparations for the pilgrimage to Israel and Jordan are ongoing, with daily coordination efforts to ensure a smooth and successful journey.

“We must intercede for God to avert or restrain war rather than wait until the end of the conflict before seeking divine intervention.

“Let’s visit Jerusalem; your certified spiritual growth is our priority.

“Commit to regular prayers, support preparations and consider participating in a pilgrimage,” he said.

The presiding priest of the church, Moses Akinlola, commended the sensitisation initiative and thanked the visitors.

He offered prayers for the success of the programme.
