Shettima rallies support for Oyebanji in Ekiti ahead of Saturday’s governorship poll

Vice President Kashim Shettima has arrived in Ekiti State to attend the All Progressives Congress rally in support of the party’s governorship candidate, Biodun Oyebanji, ahead of Saturday’s election.
In a statement on Tuesday, the spokesperson for the vice president, Stanley Nkwocha, said Mr Shettima arrived in the state to support the party’s candidate and attend other official engagements.
He stated, “Ahead of the rally, the Vice President is scheduled to pay a courtesy visit to the Oba of Ado-Ekiti, His Royal Highness Oba Rufus Adeyemo Adejugbe, and also hold a session with the Ekiti State Traditional Council at the Ekiti State Government House.”
Mr Nkwocha added that Mr Shettima would use the opportunity to highlight the ongoing reforms under President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda at both the federal and sub-national levels.
“The Vice President was welcomed at the airport by Ekiti State Governor, Abiodun Oyebanji; Senate President Godswill Akpabio; the governors of Imo, Kaduna, Ebonyi, Yobe, Edo, Ogun, Bayelsa, and Ondo states; APC National Chairman, Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda; and other political heavyweights,” he added.
