Ondo South Senator-elect Faduyile vows to fulfil campaign promises

The Ondo South Senator-elect, Dayo Faduyile, has pledged to deliver on his campaign promises.
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Sunday declared Mr Faduyile of the All Progressives Congress (APC) the winner of Saturday’s by-election after polling 68,474 votes.
Adeolu Akinwunmi of Allied People’s Movement (APM) came second with 1,411 votes, while Adesanya Olaoluwa of Action People’s Party (APP) and Clement Funso-Nejo of Boot Party (BP) scored 213 and 70 votes respectively.
Mr Faduyile, while speaking with journalists in Okitipupa, thanked his constituents for their overwhelming votes, which gave the APC victory in the election.
“I feel so elated for emerging as the winner. I thank all Ondo South people for voting overwhelmingly for the APC and me, the candidate.
“Let me reassure them that we will do all that we have promised them and bring a new lease of life to Ondo South,” Mr Faduyile said.
He extended the hand of fellowship to other contestants, saying that they should work together as a team and share ideas and a wealth of knowledge to develop the district.
Mr Faduyile, however, gave kudos to INEC, saying that the commission performed creditably to ensure a hitch-free process.
He also commended security agencies for their professionalism in maintaining law and order during the process.
The Ondo South senatorial seat became vacant following Jimoh Ibrahim’s appointment as Nigeria’s permanent representative to the United Nations.
