Soludo’s wife urges stronger support for MSMEs to drive economic growth

Wife of the Anambra State governor, Nonye Soludo, has described entrepreneurs as critical drivers of economic growth, job creation and community development.
Mrs Soludo stated this on Saturday in a message to mark 2026 International Micro, Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (MSME) Day, observed every June 27.
The International Micro, Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (MSMEs) Day is celebrated to raise awareness of the contribution of MSMEs to sustainable development and the global economy.
The theme of this year’s commemoration is “Human-Centred Entrepreneurship in an AI-Driven Future: Economic Empowerment for the Next Generation of MSMEs”.
Mrs Soludo commended entrepreneurs for their resilience, innovation and determination in building stronger communities.
“Today, we celebrate the resilience, innovation and determination of entrepreneurs whose ideas create jobs, strengthen families and drive sustainable economic growth,” she said.
The governor’s wife called for sustained support for micro, small and medium-sized enterprises, stressing that thriving small businesses were essential to prosperous and inclusive communities.
She noted that the celebration underscored the importance of empowering entrepreneurs through policies and initiatives that expand access to markets, skills development and business opportunities.
