NSCDC appoints new state commandant for Adamawa

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps has appointed Nasiru Saleh as the 16th commandant in Adamawa. The command’s spokesman, Nyako Baba, announced this in a statement on Wednesday in Yola.
Mr Baba said Mr Saleh officially took over from Idris Bande during a formal handover ceremony held at the command headquarters in Yola.
He said the event was attended by members of the command’s management team and other senior officers.
Mr Bande expressed appreciation to officers and men of the command for their loyalty, dedication and support throughout his tenure.
He commended the personnel for their professionalism and urged them to extend the same cooperation to his successor, enabling him to achieve greater success in advancing the corps’ mandate.
Mr Bande also thanked stakeholders and security partners for their collaboration in promoting peace and security across the state.
Mr Saleh expressed gratitude to the commandant-general of NSCDC, Ahmed Audi, for the confidence reposed in him to lead the Adamawa command. He pledged to consolidate on the achievements recorded by his predecessor through improved operational effectiveness and enhanced intelligence-driven security operations.
Mr Saleh said his administration would focus on the protection of Critical National Assets and Infrastructure, personnel welfare, community engagement and stronger collaboration with sister security agencies.
He assured residents of the state of his commitment to strengthening security measures to protect lives and property.
The new commandant also charged officers and men of the command with remaining disciplined, professional, and dedicated to duty. According to him, teamwork, integrity, accountability and excellence will serve as the guiding principles of his administration.
Mr Saleh described effective collaboration among security agencies and stakeholders as critical to addressing emerging security challenges in the state. The new commandant reassured the Adamawa government and residents of his unwavering commitment to maintaining peace, law and order across the state.
