The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Niger State has reaffirmed its determination to reconcile aggrieved members ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The state governor, Umaru Bago, stated this in Minna, during the APC strategic stakeholder meeting aimed at building cohesion in the party.

He acknowledged that there were post-primary election crises in the party, but said that efforts were ongoing to reconcile aggrieved members.

According to him, the reconciliation will be extended to aggrieved members at the grassroots.

Mr Bago stressed the need for unity among party members and also tasked members, especially the APC flagbearers in the state, to start mobilising and canvassing support ahead of the next general elections.

According to him, primary elections come with post-election crises, and he has been promoting  reconciliation.

“The number of projects APC has done across various sectors at the federal, state, and local government levels was unprecedented. Committees will be set up to drive reconciliation and campaigns. A lot of alignment and realignment will happen, and APC will be victorious in the 2027 general elections,” he said.

The Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, said there was no party without internal issues, adding that the meeting was a platform to resolve the issues.

He highlighted some achievements of the party in the country, and expressed confidence that the APC would win the 2027 elections.

Also, the APC National Vice Chairman for the North Central, Mu’azu Bawa-Rijau and the state party chairman, Aminu Musa-Bobi, in their separate remarks, applauded the governor for good leadership in the state.

They called on party members to unite and work collectively for the success of all candidates of the party in the 2027 general elections.

Mr Bawa-Rijau said the flagbearers and political office holders should return to the grassroots and canvas support, as the party would not tolerate laziness from any candidate or member.

Stakeholders including the Minister of State for Agriculture and Food Security, Senator Aliyu Abdullahi; senator representing Niger East, Mohammed Sani; former deputy governors Ahmed Musa-Ibeto and Mohammed Ketso, respectively; emphasised the importance of unity.

Also in attendance at the meeting were Mohammed Dabban; and SenatorDavid Umaru.

The meeting was attended by critical stakeholders of the party comprising the party candidates for the 2027 general elections, elected and appointed government officials and those who lost the party tickets, among others.
