The executive secretary of the Kaduna State Emergency Management Agency (KADSEMA), Usman Mazadu, said the agency has contained a compressed gas tanker leak in Kaduna South.

Mr Mazadu disclosed this on Monday in Kaduna, stating that the agency responded jointly with the Kaduna State Fire and Public Safety Agency after receiving a distress call on Sunday.

Emergency responders secured the scene while cooling operations were ongoing to stabilise the tanker and prevent escalation.

“No casualty or injury was recorded, and the tanker driver escaped unharmed,” he said.

Mr Mazadu advised motorists and pedestrians to avoid the Nnamdi Azikiwe Bypass near Unguwan Mu’azu until emergency officials declared the area safe.

He said traffic was diverted to alternative routes to facilitate emergency operations and protect road users.

Mr Mazadu commended residents for their cooperation and urged them to comply with emergency directives until the operation concluded.
