The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced that registration has begun for candidates seeking admission into Nigeria Certificate in Education (NCE) programmes in colleges of education and non-technological agricultural programmes in polytechnics.

‎This is contained in a statement on Thursday by JAMB’s acting director of public affairs and protocol, Fabian Benjamin.

‎Mr Benjamin said interested candidates with the required O’Level credits could register at any Institutional Professional Registration Centre (IPRC) in colleges of education or any JAMB professional registration centre (PRC) nationwide.

‎He recalled that the federal government had waived the requirement for candidates seeking admission into these programmes to sit the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).

‎According to him, JAMB has put in place a robust admission process to ensure that only qualified candidates are admitted while maintaining the quality and standards of the programmes.

Mr Benjamin explained that eligible candidates only needed to visit any designated IPRC or JAMB PRC with their O’Level credentials to complete their registration, without sitting the annual UTME.

‎He urged eligible candidates to take advantage of the opportunity by visiting the designated registration centres in Colleges of Education or JAMB offices across the country to complete their registration.

Mr Benjamin added that candidates who sat the 2026 UTME but decided to pursue NCE or non-technological agricultural programmes could convert their applications at any IPRC or JAMB PRC at no additional cost.

‎According to him, the policy is designed to expand access to NCE and non-technological agricultural programmes while preserving and enhancing the quality of the educational pathways.
