Nigeria’s Aliko Dangote ranks 65th in global billionaire index

Aliko Dangote, Africa’s richest man and Nigerian business magnate, has ranked 65th among the world’s richest people with a fortune.
Bloomberg’s billionaire index ranked Mr Dangote 65th among the world’s top billionaires, with an estimated net worth of $35.7 billion.
The 69-year-old operates the Dangote Group, with investments across manufacturing, oil and gas, agriculture, and food processing in Nigeria and other African countries.
The Kano-born business mogul’s assets were categorised into public, private, and cash, with their worth estimated in U.S. dollars.
Among Mr Dangote’s public assets, Dangote Cement PLC is estimated at $11.7 billion, Dangote Sugar Refinery PLC at $448.6 million, and NASCON Allied Industries PLC at $255.1 million.
Mr Dangote’s private assets include the Dangote Oil Refinery, estimated at $18.6 billion; the Fertiliser Plant, worth $3.02 billion; OML 71 and 72, worth $ 497 million; and Dangote Industries Companies, worth $200 million.
His Lagos real estate is estimated to be worth $148 million; his free zone land is estimated to be worth $100 million, and his private jet is worth $76 million.
In cash assets, Mr Dangote, currently Nigeria’s first trillionaire in naira, is estimated to be worth $650 million.
With the $1.6 billion Dangote Petroleum Refinery IPO recently launched, Dangote Group said it is “on course to generate approximately $36 billion in revenue in 2026, driven by robust performance across its diversified industrial businesses and ambitious expansion plans across Africa.”
Recently, the industrialist said he was targeting Mombasa, Kenya, as the site for his 650,000-barrel-per-day refinery in East Africa, a project estimated to cost between $15 billion and $17 billion.
