Kebbi residents offered free eye surgery

The Nasara Foundation, in collaboration with the Islamic Enlightenment Foundation of Nigeria, will organise a free cataract surgery outreach for patients suffering from cataract-related eye conditions in Kebbi.
Dauda Vanumu, press secretary to the wife of the Kebbi governor, confirmed this in a statement on Wednesday.
The four-day medical outreach will run from Saturday to Tuesday at the General Hospital, Koko, in the Koko-Bese council area of Kebbi, starting at 9:00 a.m. daily.
According to the statement, the humanitarian initiative is hosted by the governor’s wife and founder of the Nasara Foundation, Zainab Nasare Nasir Idris, as part of her unwavering commitment to improving access to quality healthcare and restoring sight to indigent and vulnerable residents across the state.
“Members of the public, particularly individuals living with cataracts and other eligible eye conditions, are encouraged to take advantage of this free medical intervention by presenting themselves for screening and surgery during the outreach period,” it advised.
The statement further stated that the outreach underscored the Nasara Foundation’s continued commitment to complementing the efforts of the Kebbi government in delivering quality healthcare services.
The initiative is part of broader humanitarian programmes designed to enhance the well-being and quality of life of the people of Kebbi.
The statement urged beneficiaries to come early for registration and screening to ensure a hitch-free service delivery throughout the four days.
