Al-Ahli forward Ivan Toney charged with assault over nightclub incident

The UK Metropolitan police announced that England international Ivan Toney has been charged with assault for allegedly causing bodily harm during an incident at a Soho nightclub.
In a statement on Friday, the Met police said the incident occurred at a central London nightclub on December 6, 2025, adding that the 30-year-old was subsequently charged last month.
“A man has been charged with assault following a Met investigation. Ivan Toney, 30 (16.03.1996), of Northampton, was charged on Thursday, 31 July with assault causing actual bodily harm,” the police said.
The former Brentford player, who recently represented England at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, is scheduled to make his first appearance at Westminster Magistrates’ Court in September.
“He will appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, 24 September. The charge relates to an assault, which reportedly took place on 6 December 2025 at a nightclub on Wardour Street, W1,” the police noted.
Toney currently plays for Saudi Pro League side Al-Ahli following a move in 2024.
A spokesperson for Toney said, “Ivan acknowledges the charge, and although he is naturally shocked, he looks forward to being given the opportunity to clear his name in court.”
