The executive chairman of the Nasarawa State Universal Basic Education Board, Kassim Muhammad, has charged contractors handling board projects to adhere strictly to specifications and deliver quality work.

Mr Muhammad gave the charge on Thursday in Lafia during a management meeting with contractors recently awarded school contracts. He warned that the administration would not condone the abandonment of projects.

“I want to call on you to execute these projects with a high sense of sincerity and dedication so as to ensure that the Nasarawa child enjoys qualitative basic education,” he said.

The SUBEB boss said the board would soon commence monitoring of projects across the state to ensure standards were maintained. He also tasked community leaders in the state with taking ownership of government projects in their domains.

“Community leaders should ensure proper maintenance of projects sited in their domains; doing so will guarantee durability of the job,” he added.

The chairman of the Nasarawa State Contractors Association, Muhammadu Na-Mairo, appreciated the SUBEB management for the interaction and assured them of quality delivery. Mr Na-Mairo promised that contractors would deliver projects according to specifications.
