The Federal Road Safety Corps has charged the 27 newly promoted officers and marshals to justify their elevation through greater discipline, professionalism and commitment to duty.

Joseph Udoabba, the zonal commanding officer, Zone RS4, gave the charge at the decoration ceremony of the newly promoted officers on Wednesday in Jos.

Mr Udoabba, who delivered the Corps Marshal’s message, said promotion was not merely an advancement in rank but an increase in responsibility and a renewed call to service.

“To whom much is given, much is expected. Your new ranks demand greater commitment, discipline, leadership, accountability and dedication,” he said.

The zonal commanding officer urged the newly promoted personnel to uphold the values and ideals of the FRSC and shun indiscipline, bribery, corruption and other unethical practices.

He further urged officers who were not promoted in the exercise not to be discouraged but to improve their performance and professional competence.

Mr Udoabba reminded them that promotion is a continuous process and encouraged them to remain committed in preparation for future opportunities.

The sector commander, Adelaja Ogundemi, noted that the elevation of officers reflected their contributions and commitment, saying, “Your contributions and commitment have gained you this promotion as a reward. Do not relent; do not be relaxed but strive harder.”

Eleven officers were promoted from the rank of chief route commander to assistant corps commander, and four officers were promoted from superintendent route commander to chief route commander.

Eight officers were promoted from the rank of route commander to superintendent route commander, two officers moved from deputy route commander to superintendent route commander, and two officers moved from assistant route commander to deputy route commander.
