Damil Medvedev ends Djokovic’s Grand Slam dream

Russia’s Damil Medvedev defeated Novak Djokovic in straight sets to win his first grand slam title, in the process, ending Novak Djokovic’s dream to be the first player since Rod Laver in 1962 to win all four major grand slams in one year.
Medvedev beat Djovovic 6-4, 6-4, 6-4 in what was a stunning upset in a rematch of the Australian Open; this time, the Russian got his revenge.
He won 20 of his first 23 service points and had 16 aces in all. Djokovic, who was 27-0 in grand slam matches this year, looked a little flat and was probably fatigued after an incredibly long year of competition, including the Olympics.
