Ogun govt issues flood alert to residents, warns against flood-prone areas, electric poles
The Ogun State Government has issued an alert to residents over a potential flood in some parts of the state, as heavy rainfall is expected in the rainy season.
The state Environmental Protection Agency, in the alert noted safety measures that residents must adopt in order not to be caught up in the flood.
The agency said, “Heavy rainfall is expected in parts of Ogun State this wet season. The Government and Environmental Protection Agency urge all residents to stay vigilant and protect lives and property.
“Safety Tips to Remember: Avoid flood-prone areas, do not drive or walk through flooded roads, stay away from electrical poles and wires.”
The agency urged residents to keep their family safe.
It stated that rising waters could be dangerous, advising residents to be prepared to prevent loss of lives and property.
